Examples of Shannon's notable accomplishments in securing large-scale, award-winning proposals include:

  1. SAMHSA Treatment, Recovery & Workforce Grant: CRCC (Chicago Recovering Communities Coalition) based in Chicago was awarded $2,431,680 in August 2022 to support individuals in substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health (MH) recovery in gaining access to job training and placement.

  2. Community Cares Response & Recovery Funding: The Nebraska Minority Resource Center received $147,732.60 to provide support to Nebraska's Native American community during the COVID-19 crisis.

  3. SAMHSA Building Communities of Recovery: Shannon's grant writing efforts resulted in securing the Building Communities of Recovery (Short Title: BCOR) grant, which supports the mobilization of resources to enhance the prevalence and quality of long-term recovery support for substance abuse and addiction. This grant was awarded to the Fellowship Recovery Community Organization in Margate, FL.

  4. SAMHSA Recovery Community Services Program-Statewide Network: Shannon wrote and won the SAMHSA Recovery Community Services Program-Statewide Network grant amounting to $450,000 for FFR in Nevada. The grant aims to strengthen Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs) and their statewide network of recovery stakeholders as crucial partners in delivering state and local treatment and recovery support services, as well as allied health systems through collaboration, systems improvement, public health messaging, and training conducted for (or with) key recovery stakeholder organizations.

  5. SAMHSA Targeted Capacity Expansion-Peer-to-Peer: On behalf of USARA, Shannon secured the SAMHSA Targeted Capacity Expansion-Peer-to-Peer grant totaling approximately $900,000.00, which facilitates the provision of peer services to individuals seeking recovery in the state of Utah.

  6. Substance Abuse Prevention & Treatment Agency, Women's Set Aside Funds: Shannon's grant writing prowess led to the successful acquisition of the Substance Abuse Prevention & Treatment Agency grant under the Women's Set Aside Funds for Foundation for Recovery. The grants amounted to $107,000 (FY 2017) and $104,000 (FY 2018) and were dedicated to providing peer support services for women in the criminal justice system.

  7. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families: Shannon secured a Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Workforce Services grant amounting to $898,488.00 on behalf of USARA for the provision of addiction intervention services.
